Company = Completely Convivial. Beer = Tip Top (Merton Market Bitter - Ascot). Special attraction - by chance Barry Cryer was in the audience and with a bit of arm twisting gave us a super rendering of Doctor Jazz. What a super afternoon it was (13.00 - 15.00). Soon I'll be doing the Dales Way as well and at the end of it, finally finishing off the Pennine Way after we were snowed in near the end earlier in the year. What happens next is a good question, however if I can get the time I'm quite tempted to try the Southern Upland Way in Scotland. Maybe camping it too! We'll see. Much depends if I get redeployment at work when my job moves to Salford, or whether I get made redundant!

I've wished that National Rail's site did that for a long time." it does. if you want, for example, to consult the scheduled stopping times for the UK's longest direct service (the 08.42 Aberdeen - Penzance, yes I do know I'm sad), simply find the train - easiest by searching for "direct trains only" on a day it runs, e.g. next Monday. Then click on "details" then "show calling points", and you will see the times for all 42 (!) of them!

Coupled with the decision to reduce the A & B lists from 42 tracks to 27, this has resulted in a less that satisfying daytime listening experience. Checking last.fm for frequency of airplay yesterday, I found that those 27 tracks were played just over 300 times in one week. That's around twenty hours of airtime, nearly a whole day spent plugging away at that same small gene pool. This isn't really an acceptable use of the station's time, consistently promoting such a narrow range of new music during the daylight hours.

I have a balance that I intend to pay off early and I'm hoping there will be no problems. I have noticed, however, that people who have set up direct debits from their checking accounts seem to have the most trouble with GE Money. I pay my bill with a check that I put in the remittance envelope as soon as the bill arrives in the mail. So far, my statements from GE Money have all arrived on time and there has been no problem with GE Money's receiving and crediting my payments. I will keep everyone posted as to how things progress.
